Amy Purdy, co-founder of Disabled Sports USA chapter Adaptive Action Sports, contracted bacterial meningitis at the age of 19 and subsequently had both of her legs amputated below the knee. A high-octane athlete prior to her amputations, Amy continued her journey to become the best snowboarder in the world. In March 2014, she will realize another dream of competing in the Paralympic games on the inaugural U.S. Paralympic Snowboard Team.
