With support from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Disabled Sports USA is partnering with NCHPAD to award 20 individual training grants to staff/volunteers of VA Medical Centers, DSUSA Chapters, and other individuals serving disabled veterans at no cost who wish to earn Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer certification.
An ACSM/NCHPAD Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer (CIFT) is a fitness professional who assesses, develops and implements individualized exercise programming for children and adults with a physical, sensory or cognitive disability. ACSM/NCHPAD CIFTs make exercise accessible for all – empowering individuals to achieve their fitness goals!
Training Grant includes the following items (valued at up to $900):
- *Inclusive Fitness Workshop registration fee
- CIFT exam fee
- ACSM Alliance of Health and Fitness Membership fee
- ACSM/NCHPAD Resources for the Inclusive Fitness Trainer textbook
- **American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer Certification basic study program & exam fee
*In lieu of attending an Inclusive Fitness Workshop in person, you may participate in the CIFT Webinar Series
**Limited to individuals who are not currently certified as personal trainers
Application Deadline: February 7, 2020
Applicants will be notified of decision by February 28, 2020
