Thank you for your interest in participating in the Adapt2Achieve Swimming Training! With support from the Department of Veterans Affairs, this training is offered at no cost to VA staff, DSUSA Chapters and sport providers who serve disabled Veterans (at no cost to the Veterans). This unique training incorporates specialization in adaptive methods throughout the U.S. Masters Swimming curricula. Attendees will learn how to effectively teach swimmers with disabilities using specialized instruction techniques and adaptive equipment. The training is suitable for all levels of swimming experience.

Attendees have the opportunity to earn the following USMS Certification*:

 

U.S. Masters Swimming Adult Learn-to-Swim Certification: USMS’s Adult Learn-to-Swim (ALTS) instructor certification program trains and educates swim instructors in the methods and techniques that work best for adult learners. The certification course is for anyone who teaches or wants to teach adult swim lessons. The adaptive-methods specialization incorporates necessary adjustments and tools for working with adult learners who have a variety of disabilities and/or needs for special accommodations.
