Honoring America’s Wounded Warfighters Dinner
Please join our country’s wounded warriors and their families at the 12th Annual Honoring America’s Wounded Warfighters dinner in April 24, 2019 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The funds raised through this dinner directly support severely wounded warriors in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by providing sports rehabilitation. Since 2003, the lives of over 14,000 severely wounded warriors and families have been rebuilt through Disabled Sports USA’s Warfighters Sports program through over 500 events in 50 different sports. All sports programs are provided at no cost to the warrior and his or her family member. To learn more, please contact Dave Simonson at email@example.com or call (301) 217-9837.
This year’s distinguished speaker is Medal of Honor awardee retired Army Captain Florent A. Groberg who was injured in Afghanistan on August 8, 2012 when he tackled a suicide bomber, who then detonated his device, sending Groberg flying 15 feet. Groberg is only one of eleven to be awarded the Medal of Honor since 2013. His Medal of Honor citation ends “Captain Groberg’s extraordinary heroism and selflessness above and beyond the call of duty at the risk of life are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect credit upon himself, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and the United States Army.” Groberg completed his rehab at Walter Reed Military Medical Center from August 2012 through May 2015 where he was introduced to DSUSA’s Warfighter Sports program.

Please join Members of Congress, former Members of Congress and wounded warriors at the 12th Annual Congressional Charity Golf Classic April 29, 2019 at the Army Navy Country Club (1700 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA 22202).
The annual bipartisan “Congressional Charity Golf Classic” pairs current and former Members of Congress together with wounded warriors and supporters in the spirit of service. The Congressional Charity Golf Classic benefits the Disabled Sports USA Warfighter Sports program as well as our long-standing partner Tee It Up for the Troops.
Enjoy playing golf on one of Virginia’s best courses with wounded warriors and Congress members. This event includes a round of golf, a clinic demonstration of adaptive golf and a dinner ceremony with an awards presentation.
