Why are sports important to you?
Sports are important to me, because they allow me to showcase my ability and show people that nothing can hold you back.
What is your biggest accomplishment in your sport?
My biggest accomplishment in Para Triathlon so far has been winning the wheelchair division of the Chicago SuperSprint Triathlon.
Do you have any pre-competition rituals?
I like to eat pasta the night before my races.
What does a typical day in your training program look like?
A typical training day involves a two hour track practice followed by a two hour swim practice with dryland.
What is your favorite off-season activity?
I enjoy going to my grandparents’ lake house with my family and baking with my friends.
Who do you admire most?
I admire my friend and Paralympian Cortney Jordan because she has guided me through the world of para-sports. She is always positive and motivates me to be the best person I can be.
What is one of the things you would put on your “bucket” list?
Going on an African safari.

I love Parmesan cheese!
What would you say to someone who is thinking about trying adaptive sports?
I would tell them to embrace their differences and embrace the opportunities available. Adaptive sports are an amazing outlet to a world of inspiration and a supportive community. I have met some of my best friends through the adaptive sports world, and it has helped me to embrace who I am and never give up.
